Nobody knows exactly the time when it became the specialty snack of Vong village, perhaps a thousand years ago. The legend tells that in an autumn of thousand years ago, locals suffered a huge storm which destroyed all paddy fields where rice was in flowering period. People in Vong village had to collect and roast remaining young rice to to avoid starvation. Luckily, it had a distinct flavor and became famous for its fragrance.

How To Make
This delicious food is initially made from green rice to keep its fragrance and the bright green color. After harvesting, the green rice is dried in light heat for a certain time until the paddy yellows. Then put it to a stone mortar, pound lightly with a wooden pestle, sifted and winnowed. The best green sticky rice should be green, soft, chewy, full of young rice flavor and packed inside lotus leaves. The fragrance of lotus leaf makes it increasingly cool, sweet and soft.
