You can easily enjoy many dishes with the presence of calamansi in many Asian countries, including Vietnam. This fruit is not simply a fruit for refreshments, it is also a valuable medicine for treating illnesses.

Calamansi is a small fruit, round, and tart. When the fruit is ripe, it will turn from green to orange or yellow-orange. It has an intense citrus fragrance unlike other varieties  of limes.

100 grams of calamansi contain as follows:

Carbs: 16 grams

Protein: 2 grams

Fat: 1 gram

Fiber: 6.5 grams

Vitamin A: 6% of the RDI

Vitamin C: 73% of the RDI

Calcium: 6% RDI

Manganese: 7% RDI

Calamansi also provides a small amount of vitamin E, iron, magnesium, potassium, copper, and zinc.

Fruit is a high-fiber food that you should add to your nutritional menu. 100g of calamansi contains  about 6 grams of fiber which can help the digestive system work better.

Ingredients

+ 5 calamansi, cut into halves

+ 2 tablespoons sugar

+ 1 cup water

+ Ice

How to make

+ Squeeze the juice from the calamansi.

+ Strain the juice and mix it with sugar.

+ Add in cold water and mix well.  Ready to be served.

 

Calamansi Honey Ginger Tea

Ingredients

+ 2 cups of water

+ 1 ginger root

+ 2 tablespoons of honey

+ 2 fruits of calamansi

How to make

+ Slice ginger and boil ginger with cups of water.

+ Strain ginger

+ Squeeze the juice from the calamansi and discard the seeds.

+ Place honey, calamansi juice into the mix and stir until fully dissolved.

+ Serve with slices of ginger, calamansi.

Ingredients

+ Calamansi: 500 gram

+ Honey: 25 gram (about 2 tablespoons)

+ Cane sugar, rock sugar, salt

How to make

+ Wash calamansi, and soak it in dilute salt water for about 30 minutes, then take it out to drain.

+ Cut the fruit into equal segments, and gently squeeze out all the water and seeds inside.

+ Soak the calamansi with salt water for about 10 hours, then boil briefly for 3 minutes.

+ Marinate the jam with sugar for about 5 hours, then drain all the sugar water into the pan to start slurping the jam, add rock sugar and stir the jam until the sugar water is almost dry.

+ Add calamansi juice and honey to the slugs, and continue to stir until the sugar water runs out.

 

Calamansi Milk

Ingredients

+ Calamansi: 2 fruits

+ Condensed milk: 2 teaspoons

+ Boiling water: 100 ml

+ Cane sugar

How to make

+ Mix condensed milk with 100ml of boiling water. Add a little cane sugar if it is pale.

+ Squeeze out the juice of calamansi, and remove the seeds.

+ Shake well the mixture of crushed ice, milk, water, and the skin of the fruit.
